I've always like the bullpup configuration so I thought I'd add something more unconventional to the collection this time round.

Its ARES version of "Israel Military Industries" Tar-21 (Tavor assault rifle) in Olive Drab.

Fitted with a trijicon reflex rep and surefire scoutlight rep.

I wasn't happy with the original photo I took of this so I've give it a bit of an update.

Also now fitted with a shorter CTAR style barrel.

Real Steel info.

The TAR-21 (or simply Tavor) is an Israeli bullpup assault rifle chambered for 5.56x45mm NATO ammunition with a selective fire system, selecting between semi-automatic mode, burst mode, and full automatic fire mode.

It is named after Mount Tavor, while "TAR-21" stands for "Tavor Assault Rifle - 21st Century". It is the standard issued weapon of the Givati Brigade (since August 2006) and Golani Brigade (since August 2008).

The MTAR-21 (Micro Tavor) was recently selected as the future assault rifle of the Israeli Defense Forces, and within the next few years it will become the standard Israeli infantry weapon. The Nahal Brigade began receiving it in March 2011.

I love this replica, I may buy one of these sometime within the next year =)

Can you give your opinion about it?

Currently I have a SIG 552, which gives me a good performance for CQB and Woodsland but I want something that gives a bit more range for woodsland games.

What's the maximum range that you get with the TAR21? What's the FPS for it?

In my no holes barred honest opinion its an awful awful AEG.

Externally its great and the weight and feel is nice but internally its truly a nightmare to dismantle and work on as it requires you to take practically every nut and bolt out just to get at the gearbox and even simple jobs like changing the hop rubber require you to completely disassemble the gun to get at the hop unit.

I would like to tell you how it preforms if it actually worked but mine arrived with a dodgey air nozzle and a torn hop rubber so its currently in bits awaiting repair =/

From what I've read about them they are good performers once you work out the kinks.

Thanks for the advice, I think I better stay away from it. =( Petty it just looks great.

As far as I know, only Ares is manufacturing it, right?

Yeah sadly at the moment they are.

A company TSI (I think thats what its called) made one to but the dimensions where way off and it was hugely oversized and needless to say nobody bought it.

Thanks, even though its only a few inches off the barrel the whole gun just feels more manageable.
